join us for an unforgettable day of music, community, and giving back at the 4th annual harambee for makindu—a vibrant gathering inspired by the swahili word harambee, meaning "all pull together." this all-day celebration at potter’s craft cider on Saturday April 11th, 2026, from 12 pm to 10 pm, brings people together through live music, dance, food, and a shared mission to support the makindu children’s program.
from 12 PM to 7 PM, enjoy an incredible lineup of local bands filling the air with feel-good sounds from:
gia ray, betty jo, the pollock’s, and josh mayo and the house sauce
kids’ activities, games, and community raffles will keep the energy high, while our live auctions feature exclusive local prizes and experiences!
at 7 PM, the night transforms into an electrifying benefit concert featuring mighty joshua, the legendary reggae artist known for his powerful stage presence and uplifting messages of unity and change. this ticketed evening show is the heart of the festival, with ticket proceeds supporting the makindu children’s program.
food will be available all day from the catering outfit, with 100% of food sales going directly to support makindu’s mission of feeding, educating, and caring for vulnerable children in kenya.
the makindu children’s program provides critical resources to orphaned and vulnerable children in eastern kenya, ensuring they have access to food, education, and essential care. through the makindu children’s centre, hundreds of children receive meals, emotional support, crisis intervention, and a safe place to learn and grow.
