Edwin Heaven made it through college (Temple U), then later taught it (Academy of Art University). Survived the armed forces (US Coast Guard) and, somehow, they survived him. Produced records and rock shows, then wrote and directed films. ("The Organist" an official entry at dozens of film fests.) Wrote the original script about a talking duck from outer space named Howard that would become the first movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Promoted and performed with “The Greatest Effing Rock Show on Earth” (The Tubes), then kicked in the door for punk rock (The Nuns). Invented Pet Rubber®, condoms that you can train like pets to roll over (or, in some cases, play dead), and socks called THROX® that come in threes, so when you lose one, you still have a pair (“The Cure for the Missing Sock”).
Along with his memoir "The Night I Got David Bowie Laid, Sorta," he is also the author of the novel "The World’s Most Handsome Man" (“Madcap and wicked: A very funny novel!” ~ T.C. Boyle).
Edwin lives in North Beach (the heart of San Francisco) with Tulip, a four-legged human from Yorkshire.
