Event Description
Paint & Paddle: Art on the Water Dates: July 25–26, 2026 Location: Lower Spokane River (Detillion Campground, boat-in only)
We're heading back to the water. Join Spokane Riverkeeper for a two-day paddling and painting experience designed to foster community, creativity, and river stewardship. Led byBig River Canoesand artistMegan Perkins, participants will travel in 28-foot voyageur canoes, explore plein-air painting, and connect over shared meals and river stories.
What Past Participants Say "I thought I was signing up for a simple paint-and-sip with some canoeing, but this trip became the highlight of my year. We paddled under the Milky Way, painted at sunrise and sunset, swam, shared incredible local food, and connected deeply with nature and each other. Megan doesn’t just teach painting—she gives you space to find your own style. I left with new skills, unforgettable memories, and a vision of what community rooted in care for the land can look like. I recommend this trip wholeheartedly."
"A highlight was rafting all the canoes together in the middle of the river to paint the sunset followed by a starlit night paddle where the river relecting the sky made me feel as if I was in a globe of stars. I'm already looking forward to next year."
