Stephen Anderson is from a family of musicians. His father was a jazz pianist and he grew up listening to Count Basie orchestra, Buddy Rich, Miles Davis and many other jazz masters. Stephen played in the Torrance Youth Band, Torrance High School Band, El Camino Band, and as a professional trumpeter in numerous bands across the Los Angeles area. One of Stephen’s early trumpet influences was Chicago’s founding trumpet player, Lee Loughnane. Stephen expressed, “I love Chicago’s Rock & Roll with the horns sound! I play because I like to keep swing and jazz music alive! I have a passion for the classic rock era of the 60s and 70s.”
In 2018, Stephen formed the band “Soundscape,” which brings together accomplished and award-winning musicians to be able to play the classic rock and jazz music they love, and the audience always loves. Passionate vocals top it all off and will take you on a musical trip down memory lane that will have you singing along or dancing to every song!
Soundscape has performed multiple years at the Palos Verdes Street Fair & Music Festival, Fundraiser Galas, Country Clubs, various Churches, and private parties throughout the Los Angeles Area.
