Movie Screening and Talk on Violence Against Women
On Saturday 29 November 2025, Rotaract Club of The Hague International is hosting a charity movie screening in support of the Orange the World campaign.
We will be screening two thought-provoking short films on the topic and welcoming three guest speakers. The evening's programme is as follows:
19:00-19:15 Arrival & welcome
19:30-19:50 Talk on “Domestic Violence: Behind Closed Doors and Beyond…” by Maaike van der Laan from VRIJgebroken
19:55-20:15 Screening of Overcoming trolls: Kenyan women speak! by The Kenya ICT Action Network
20:20-20:30 Talk + Q&A by David Indeje from The Kenya ICT Action Network
20:35-21:45 Screening of Doublespeak by Orange the World
20:50-21:20 Future-oriented talk on violence by Sarah Hoogendijk from UN Women NL
21:20-21:30 Closing remarks & departure
Our event is part of Orange the World, UN Women's global campaign against violence against women and girls. The campaign runs annually from November 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, to December 10, International Human Rights Day.
All donations made through this form will be donated to UN Women's Orange Trust Fund, the largest global fund to prevent and stop violence against women and girls. Every donation makes a difference:
€15 provides medical care for one victim of sexual violence.
€50 provides two weeks' worth of food for a mother and her children fleeing domestic violence.
€100 contributes to a "One Stop Crisis Centre" providing shelter and psychological support to victims of violence.
The first ten donations of €10 or more will receive an Orange Pin on the day of the event.
You can also donate directly to the Orange Trust Fund here.
This evening is not only about raising awareness but also about education and empowerment. We want to create a meaningful, safe, and engaging space where people can learn, reflect and act.
