This workshop builds confidence and capacity in two essential leadership skills: public speaking and professional networking. Scholars will learn how to craft and deliver powerful speeches and engage authentically with others to build lasting relationships.
Public Speaking Topics include:

Speech Writing & Structure: Techniques to organize your thoughts and create compelling, memorable messages
Delivery Techniques: Practice vocal projection, pacing, and body language
Audience Engagement: Learn how to hold attention and create connection
Overcoming Fear: Tools to manage anxiety and build confidence
Practice & Feedback: Simulations and peer feedback to refine your speaking skills

Networking Topics include:

The Three P’s of Networking: Purpose, People, and Process
Making First Impressions Count: Tools to build rapport and be memorable
Brand Representation: How to communicate your story and values
Meaningful Conversations: Going beyond small talk to create real connections
Follow-Up Strategy: Tips for logging contacts, evaluating outcomes, and staying in touch via social media

By the end of this session, Scholars will be equipped to share their voice with confidence and build strong professional networks that support their advocacy and leadership goals.
