Collective Care for Changemakers, a retreat  for educational professionals

Join us for a full-day immersive retreat designed to help educational professionals pause, recharge, and set intentions. This gathering creates space for healing, reflection, and renewal. Through guided wellness practices, collaborative conversations, and strategies for balance, you’ll leave with tools to care for yourself and your community while cultivating resilience and creativity in your practice.

Set along the beautiful waterfront at Burton Chace Park in Marina del Rey, this retreat offers a one-of-a-kind experience, complete with a catered lunch, meaningful connection in a peaceful nature-filled indoor/outdoor setting, and an unforgettable closing celebration aboard the 43-foot' vintage Humble Yacht. Our session participants will conclude the retreat with a 90-minute Marina del Rey Cruise, celebrating community, creativity, and a restorative commitment to the shared work of building spaces where care and belonging thrive.

Featured Session Presenters


Tammy Abrahem

Tammy Abrahem is an educator and community leader dedicated to progressive education and social justice. She holds a B.A. in History from Rutgers University, dual master’s degrees in Middle Eastern Studies and Political Science from The American University in Cairo, and an M.A. in Education from Hunter College. While in Cairo, Tammy worked with the United Nations–affiliated International Organization for Migration, assisting Iraqi refugees displaced during the Iraq War.

Tammy has taught at leading independent schools in New York and Los Angeles, and currently serves as a 5th-grade teacher and DEI School Coordinator at Crossroads School for Arts and Sciences. Tammy also serves on the board of Unexpected Artistry, a nonprofit using the arts for social justice education, and is the founder of Paint for Peace, an initiative that combines Arabic calligraphy with advocacy for global humanitarian issues.


Sarah Eleid

Sarah Eleid is an upper school science teacher and DEI coordinator at Crossroads School in Santa Monica. With a strong commitment to liberatory educational practices, Sarah works to foster equity and inclusion both in and beyond the classroom. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience and earned her Master’s in Emancipatory Educational Leadership from San Jose State University. Sarah’s work is guided by a passion for social justice, blending her scientific expertise with a dedication to creating transformative educational spaces.
