BaaCentric's most demanded offering, in person and online, is a 3 week journey for all beginners who yearn to learn and step foot on the path of healing through beautiful sound. From learning the the sacred tradition of the Arabic Daff in Islam, the psychological and physical healing benefits, the foundational technicalities and rhythms of playing the Daff along with popular Arabic Qasidas/Nasheeds, to immersing in the ways of connecting to Prophetic Love through this blessed practice.

This course is intended to familiarize the student with the Art of Classical Arabic Drumming & to revive the forgotten tradition of the Daff within hearts, as a means of healing, through connecting to the Love of the Most Beloved to Allah, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ

Anas ibn Malik reported that the Prophet ‎ﷺ passed by youth of Medina and they were playing their drums and singing the words, “Muhammad is an excellent neighbour! We are neighbours from the tribe of Najjar!” The Prophet said, “Verily, Allah knows that you are dear to me.” [Sahih: Sunan Ibn Majah 1899]

The tradition of playing the Daff with recitation of poetry in praise of Allah & His Beloved Messenger ‎ﷺ was practiced since the time of the Prophet ‎Muhammad ‎ﷺ and continues to date. Drumming Circles have existed throughout the ages across various cultures and geographic locations. Drumming with the use of beautiful tunes of Prophetic Praise is perceived as a form of therapeutic healing through sound.
BaaCentric invites you to explore, immerse yourself in, and reconnect with the centuries-old tradition of drumming as a sacred practice and a means of healing within.
This will be a females only class facilitated by sister Summeya who has learnt the Daff from a young age from traditional female Yemeni Munshidas (reciters) in Hijaz, who had given her Ejaza to transmit this tradition to the next generations.
