Join us at the Grand Rapids Children’s Museum on November 18, from 5:30 until 8:00 p.m. to Explore and Celebrate the Power of Design, highlighting collaboration and the creative process. We’ll tour the Weathering Emotions Exhibit, presented by i understand, in memory of Kimberly Mutch Bergner and designed developed by Carnevale. The exhibit includes immersive technology and multi-sensory interactivity: voice-guided mindful movement, dynamic weather sound clouds, wind tunnels, responsive lighting and projection, and tactile storytelling stations. Then we’ll hear from the designers, curators, and fabricators about how they tuned in to the minds and emotions of children—and then with each other—to engage kids across age levels and abilities to help them turn feelings into words, motion, and sounds.
Appetizers and beverages are offered during the social time.
This event precedes Children’s Grief Awareness Day, which is marked this year on November 20. CARNEVALE, based in Grand Rapids, partnered with the Grand Rapids Children’s Museum and the nonprofit I Understand, which honors the memory of Kimber Mutch Bergner.
This event is possible because of our generous sponsors, Haworth Helps, CARNEVALE, and Meta4Mat.
