Mayoral and Deputy Mayor Candidate Talks

Meet the candidates running for Mayor and Deputy Mayor of St. John's
Join us for an essential forum where you can hear directly from candidates running for Mayor and Deputy Mayor in St. John's upcoming municipal election. This is your chance to meet and learn about the candidates' policy positions on key issues affecting our city, including transportation, housing, municipal finances, and community services.

Why Attend?

This forum is strategically timed during the week that vote-by-mail kits are distributed, giving you the information you need to make informed decisions before completing your ballot. Since this year's election is conducted entirely by mail, this may be your best opportunity to engage with candidates face-to-face.

Statement of Neutrality

Happy City St. John's, through stjohnsvotes.ca, is committed to providing a comprehensive, accessible, and impartial resource for both candidates and voters during the Municipal General and By-Elections in St. John's. Our goal is to make election information clear and easy to find, while ensuring that every candidate has equal visibility and opportunity to share their platform with the public.

We will remain fully neutral throughout the election period, avoiding any action or presentation that could be interpreted as favouring or opposing any candidate. Our role is to inform, not to influence.

Members of our Board of Directors and volunteers come from diverse personal and professional backgrounds, and as private citizens, they may participate in election activities, such as volunteering for or endorsing candidates. However, these individual activities are entirely separate from the work of Happy City St. John's. The organization itself will not endorse, support, or oppose any candidate or campaign.

We will take active steps to ensure all candidates are presented equally in our election-related efforts. If at any point we are perceived to have shown preferential treatment, such situations will be unintentional, and we will act promptly to review and correct the matter.

By upholding these principles, we aim to build public trust in our role as a fair, transparent, and non-partisan source of municipal election information.
