Join the Central Texas Medical Orchestra for a night of music supporting Caritas of Austin

Caritas of Austin believes that when every person has a stable place to call home, they can realize their full potential and contribute to our Austin community. They build wellbeing by making sure that people have a safe home, access to healthy groceries, jobs that provide a reliable living wage, and educational opportunities to learn life skills.

Tchaikovsky - Pas de Deux from the Nutcracker

Total concert time will be about 1 hour and 10 minutes with an intermission.

GUEST SOLOIST: Dr. Mallory McHenry


Dr. Mallory McHenry, NCTM is a dynamic musician and educator based in Austin, Texas. She currently serves as Lecturer of Harp at the University of Texas at Austin's Butler School of Music and as Assistant Professor of Music at Southwestern University. At UT, Dr. McHenry teaches harp lessons, harp pedagogy (undergraduate and graduate), and beginning harp, and directs the University of Texas Harp Ensemble.

Dr. McHenry earned both her Doctor of Musical Arts and Master of Music degrees in Harp Performance from the University of Texas at Austin. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Oakwood University, a Historically Black College and University (HBCU) located in Huntsville, Alabama.

As an avid performer, she has appeared as a soloist with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and regularly performs with the Dallas Winds and the U.S. Air Force Band of the West. Additional appearances include the Austin Symphony Orchestra, Austin Civic Orchestra, Laredo Philharmonic, Valley Symphony Orchestra, and Density512. She has also presented recitals and lectures with the American Harp Society Southern Region and in partnership with Mu Phi Epsilon and the Dallas Public Library.

A reception will follow the concert, including light bites from H-E-B and Zucchini Kill Bakery, live music by members of the orchestra’s brass section, and the opportunity to speak with our featured soloist and orchestra members. Thank you to our reception sponsor, Austin Hearing Aid Center!


Tickets are $25 for general admission, $20 for seniors, and $10 for students. Tickets can be purchased via the link below, or via cash, check, or credit card at the door.
