Stephen Anderson grew up surrounded by music—his father was a jazz pianist, and he was raised on the sounds of Count Basie, Buddy Rich, and Miles Davis. He picked up the trumpet early on and honed his skills in the Torrance Youth Band, Torrance High School Band, and El Camino College Band before playing professionally throughout Los Angeles. Inspired by Lee Loughnane of the band Chicago, Stephen says, “I play because I like to keep swing and jazz music alive. I’ve always loved the classic rock era of the ’60s and ’70s.”
In 2018, he founded Soundscape, a band of award-winning musicians united by a passion for classic rock, jazz, and swing. Known for energetic performances and powerful vocals, Soundscape delivers nostalgic hits that get audiences singing and dancing. From festivals and fundraisers to private events, the band brings the timeless sounds of a beloved musical era to life across Southern California.
