7/13/25 - Many Hands, Many Dulcimers.

Join the Hogfiddle Consort—an ensemble of 6–8 musicians from the New York Dulcimer Orchestra—for a joyful and engaging concert featuring the unique voice of the Appalachian mountain dulcimer. Their lively and varied repertoire spans centuries and styles, from Renaissance dances and spirituals to American folk tunes, holiday favorites, and ragtime. Founder and director Carol Walker offers insights into the dulcimer’s history, musical range, and cultural roots, with opportunities for audience questions throughout. A family-friendly, educational program sure to delight music lovers of all ages.

This event is free, but seating is limited—please reserve your spot in advance.
We suggest a donation of $15 to support the Sunday Salon Series and the work of the Ulster County Historical Society. You can contribute online when you RSVP or donate at the event itself via cash, check, or credit card.

Carol Walker, founder and conductor of the New York Dulcimer Orchestra, is a nationally-recognized, award-winning mountain dulcimer teacher, performer, and arranger.  Her professional experience includes a 32-year career as a high school choral teacher in northern NJ, earning the Governor's Teacher of the Year Award in 2003.  She has published 12 books of dulcimer arrangements.
