Aleksandra (Sasha) Azbel is the founder and creative director of Sashoonya, a sustainable textiles company in Providence specializing in natural dyes. She collaborates with local farms and ecosystems, foraging plants and algae to create naturally dyed textiles for both home and body.
From crafting functional, beautiful pieces to installing large-scale textile works and leading immersive workshops, Sasha celebrates and shares the transformative power of plant-based color. Whether experimenting with indigo on her farm with volunteers or engaging diverse communities in natural dyeing, she is passionate about getting everyone excited about plants.
