Stand Up for Madinah Film Screening
Stand Up for Madinah is a short documentary film produced and directed by Zainab Sultan. It follows the first Muslim State Representative in Delaware, Madinah Wilson Anton, as she advocates for a ceasefire resolution for Gaza in the state legislature while beginning her stand up comedy career.
Zainab Sultan is an award-winning journalist, filmmaker, and impact producer whose work focuses on diversifying filmmaking spaces. Raised in Saudi Arabia, she spent several years working as a journalist in Doha, Qatar, where she developed her passion for storytelling. Her latest documentary, “Stand Up for Madinah,” premiered on Al Jazeera English. Zainab also served as the outreach and impact manager for “To Kill a Tiger,” a documentary nominated for the 96th Academy Awards. This event will feature a full screening of the documentary as well as a panel discussion with the director, Jess Scarane, and Madinah.
Proceeds will be shared even between the Delaware Call non-profit independent journalism project and Heal Palestine.
