Course Overview:

Step into the world of professional entertainment power and data distribution with this essential training course designed for up-and-coming industry professionals. This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the fundamentals of single-phase and three-phase portable power distribution, equipping students with the knowledge needed to safely and effectively work with the equipment used in entertainment lighting and audio applications.

Participants will gain hands-on insights into:

• Portable Power Systems – Understanding NEMA devices, Neutrik PowerCON and True1, 19-pin “Socapex” multi-circuit power, and cam-lok power systems, including cable assemblies and portable distribution panels.
• Power Functionality & Safety – Learning how these power systems operate and the critical safety precautions necessary for handling them in real-world production environments.
• Data & Audio Connectivity – An introduction to essential data and audio cabling, including DMX 512 with 5-pin XLR, CAT5 and CAT6 with EtherCON RJ45, and various audio cable assemblies built by Lex Products.

Patrick Legler serves as the Regional Account Manager for the Central Region at Lex Products. His journey with Lex began in 2014 when he started as an Inside Sales Rep at Lex West. Over the years, he has taken on various roles, including supervising and managing the Inside Sales team. Patrick has been instrumental in overseeing the sales support team, creating sales policies, and enhancing the integration of sales processes with other areas of the company. His extensive experience and dedication to the industries Lex serves have been invaluable to the company’s mission.

 Patrick's background in power and lighting dates back to 2006, when he worked for a grip & lighting company in Pittsburgh, PA, serving the local film and commercial businesses. His commitment to excellence and collaborative approach always strives to make a significant impact.
