Àkójọpọ X Gorée Cuisine Presents: The Games Of Our Heritage

Àkójọpọ̀ X Gorée Cuisine Presents:
The Games of Our Heritage
Connecting the Black Diaspora Through Culture and Community

Celebrate Black History Month by immersing yourself in the rich traditions of Pan-African culture. This vibrant event features Mancala and Spades—two beloved games deeply rooted in the Black diaspora. Mancala, an ancient African strategy game, and Spades, a card game treasured across generations, both serve as powerful symbols of connection, strategy, and community. Paired with delicious Senegalese cuisine, the evening promises to bring people together through shared traditions of play and food.

Our goal is to raise $500 or more through this event. This will be an intimate experience and community night where a portion of all ticket sales will go directly to Àkójọpọ̀ to support our 2025 programming, fostering Pan-African arts and culture worldwide. To learn more about our impact, visit
