Leedy’s talents thrived in the realm of commercial & civic spaces, where he employed his innovative ‘Double T’ structural strategy.  True to the principles of “form follows function”, Leedy dynamically expressed his buildings’ structural system, giving his architecture a signature elegance.  We’ll discuss Leedy’s subsequent influence on some of the most important architects of his era.

This season we take a holistic look at Gene Leedy’s practice and thought leadership in the field of architecture & urban design.  While you may know Leedy from his eye-catching residential homes or his grand civic projects, you may not know the full expanse of his repertoire— and influence— on the global world of design.  We are investing in important research and learning more about Leedy’s impact everyday— and we can’t wait to share it with you!

Join us for Cocktails & Conversation on Feb 15th, Mar 15th and Apr 19th at The Gene Leedy House. We recommend making a day or weekend of it in Winter Haven!  The Leedy House and The Leedy Office will be offering tours during the day.  You can also explore the nearby architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright and Santiago Calatrava. Our evening Salons with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres begin at 6pm.  Whether you are a local or visiting from afar, we can assist with your itinerary.  Each Salon can be enjoyed independently or as a continuous narrative.
