About Dr. Thomas Millins: Dr. Millins just celebrated his 25th year in the School District of Lee County. For the past 20 years he has been a school based administrator at numerous elementary and middle schools in the School District of Lee County. During his tenure as an school based administrator, he has been exposed to all facets of administration including but not limited to evaluations, facilities, budgets, staffing, ESE/ESOL coordinator, transportation, safety and security, and other assigned administrative duties. These experiences have enabled him to cultivate his leadership knowledge at the school level. At the district level, he has had the opportunity to work on various district committees including the District’s Code of Conduct, District Advisory Council, Sterling Quality, and Safety Committees. He has also worked as a Staff Development Site Coordinator, Crisis Prevention Instructor, and on several district grant committees. In addition to his experiences at the school and district level, he has also worked at Nova Southeastern University as an Internship Coordinator. As the Internship Coordinator, Dr. Millins worked with Masters Level students completing their 300 hours in educational leadership responsibilities at their unique school site. Dr. Millins’ experiences at the school, district level and collegiate levels will provide excellent opportunities for the students he serves at Edgewood Academy.
