Swana (Southwest Asian North African) Educators Retreat
The SWANA Educators Retreat offers a transformative space for educators who identify as SWANA (Southwest Asian North African) to come together for retrieval, rejuvenation, and affirmation. We recognize the unique challenges and emotional labor of navigating predominantly white institutions (PWIs), particularly amid today’s political landscape. This retreat is designed to safely deconstruct the barriers and burdens faced daily, offering a community grounded in understanding, solidarity, and support. Participants will leave not only refreshed and reaffirmed in their purpose as educators but also equipped with strategies and a renewed commitment to creating classrooms that are safe, inclusive, and empowering spaces for all identities. Beyond the retreat, this cohort will continue to serve as a source of enduring support and inspiration.
