September 13 Elul Round-the-Table Shabbat Family Service and Catered Dinner

ALL SPOTS HAVE BEEN FILLED, and we can not accept any further RSVPs.  We look  forward to seeing many of you during the High Holidays, and at the next Round-the-Table Shabbat in January.  

Kol HaEmek is pleased to invite you to another year of Round-the-Table catered Shabbat dinners and family service beginning on September 13th. This is a delightful opportunity for members of the inland Jewish community to enjoy a delicious catered meal, to share Shabbat blessings and songs, and to connect with community. All are invited to this joyous occasion, with a special invitation for families with children. We'll gather at 6pm for a family-oriented service of songs and blessings.  The catered meal will follow.

We will be celebrating the Hebrew month of Elul, the month in which we get ready to be ready for the deep work of the High Holidays.  It is traditional for shofar to be blown each day of Elul, as part of our collective "waking up." Please bring Shofar if you have them, even if you do not know how to blow! Elizabeth Raybee will lead us in a short Shofar-blowing tutorial.

The service will be led Kohenet Rayna Grace.  A vegetarian meal will be catered by Falafeels Good.  The menu includes the best falafel in the valley, hummus, pita, dolmas and salad, with sweet treat to follow.  

RSVPs are required.  We can accommodate 44 guests and this will fill up, so RSVP soon to save your spot.

You'll notice that when you RSVP that you have the option to make a financial donation towards the meal, suggested at $9-54 per person .  These catered dinners have been an incredible gift from Norm and Karen Rosen, and we have found that the catered meals are greatly enlivening our community.  By accepting donations, we hope to be able to continue this tradition next year.  All are welcome, regardless of ability to financially contribute.
