Tech 25 is proud to host 'Video Essentials: An Introduction to a Career in Video and Film Production' in our space this September. In this workshop, students will learn the basics of video production including planning, shooting, and editing, and will build a foundational knowledge for advanced study and career opportunities in video production. Students will also have the opportunity to shoot and edit a brief video. Taught by Miles Levrio.
By the end of this workshop, students will be able to:
1. Understand Video Specifications and Concepts: Identify and explain key video specifications such as resolution, frame rate, and aspect ratio, and understand their historical development and relevance in video production.
2. Grasp Basics of Video Production: Demonstrate an understanding of core video production elements, including pre-production planning, shooting techniques, and post-production processes.
3. Build a Knowledge Foundation: Establish a foundational knowledge that prepares students for further study and career opportunities in the field of video production.
Prior video experience is not required.
Miles is a skilled multimedia professional with over 8 years of experience in film, television, and video production. Currently serving as a Mobile Unit Engineer Apprentice at NEP Group, he operates and maintains advanced broadcast systems for clients such as NBC, CBS, and ESPN. During his time in Pittsburgh, Miles has collaborated with numerous local arts institutions, including The August Wilson Center, The New Hazlett Theater, and The Frick Museum and Gardens, among others. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications Media and a certification from Omega Recording Studios in Rockville, Maryland. He is also an avid biker and film photography enthusiast.
