We are delighted to invite you to our Third Annual Farm-to-Table Fundraising Brunch at Joshua Tree Arts & Ecology Center and Lou Harrison House.
A memorable culinary journey is awaiting where every dish is lovingly and creatively prepared with ingredients grown in our gardens, eggs gathered from our hens, sustainably harvested native plants, and fruit from our orchard. It is a true celebration of the abundance of our desert home—and of the people who help make this work possible. Enjoy an afternoon of delicious food, music, and friendship while supporting nearly two decades of commitment to arts, culture, ecology, and education.
Over the past nineteen years, Lou Harrison House has had the privilege of hosting hundreds of gifted artists and thinkers for Residencies and public performances at the historic Lou Harrison House. Ten years ago, we expanded that vision with the creation of the Joshua Tree Arts & Ecology Center which has grown into an important community resource for children and adults alike—nurturing earth stewardship, ecological awareness, creativity, and cultural expression. Our most recent program expansion focuses on youth. This year included a Young Conductors Workshop and Native Voice Camp where young people immersed themselves in different cultures, explored traditions, developed respect for others, and discovered new ways of seeing and doing. We further bring the magic of international music and ecology into local schools, while also welcoming school field trips to our permaculture gardens, where students experience firsthand the beauty and importance of our planet and the unique ecology of the Mojave Desert.
Please join us in supporting our important mission and while enjoyinf our Farm-to-Table feast. Together, we will celebrate the bounty of our gardens and the fruits of our collective hard work, while helping sustain our commitment to food security, environmental stewardship, sustainable resource management, and cultural enrichment. We look forward to sharing this special afternoon with you, around the table and in community.
As November 1 also falls during Día de Los Muertos festivities, a traditional Mesoamerica Holiday for friends and family to gather and celebrate life and memory, our board member José Garcia Davis is constructing an alter. We welcome you to add a photo of a loved one past.
