Kenyon Hall Presents
Sawyer Best - Back At The Wurlitzer
Sunday, August 18th 2024
Doors: 2:00pm / Show: 2:30pm
Sawyer Best brings his talent back to Kenyon Hall's Mighty Wurlitzer - this time for our afternoon concert goers!
Sawyer Best is a 21-year-old theatre organist from Washington, currently attending college in Oregon, who has been playing theatre organs for 5 years. His experience builds on 10 years of accordion/piano lessons and cocktail/jazz piano gigs, but he has received instruction from some of the finest theatre organists in the US, such as Jonas Nordwall, Donna Parker, Jelani Eddington, and Don Feely. Sawyer is the Youth Representative for the Puget Sound Theatre Organ Society, and is also affiliated with the Columbia River Theatre Organ Society, and the national American Theatre Organ Society. Sawyer has played the Wurlitzer at Kenyon Hall since 2020, being mentored and inspired by Lou Magor, and dedicates this show to him.
Best's performance will include solo repertoire on our Mighty Wurlitzer, as well as solo piano on our wonderful Steinway, and even a few songs he learned while studying under Kenyon Hall's former maestro, Lou Magor.
