Saturday Story Time with the Blue Barn Buns
Join us at 10:30 AM on Saturdays during the month of August at the Blue Barn Farm & Sanctuary. Children can experience the joy of reading (or showing picture books) while interacting with one of our bunny residents! This unique opportunity is designed for children to get to know animals on a personal level, to foster a love of reading and compassion. Each child will have an enclosed space to sit and interact with one of our friendly bunnies.
Event Highlights
Reading Time: Kids can bring their favorite books or choose from a selection of books provided by the Blue Barn to read to the bunnies. We will start with a group story, meet the bunnies and then branch off individually if the children choose to..
Enclosed Spaces: Each child will be given their own safe, enclosed area to sit with a bunny, ensuring a peaceful and intimate experience. If a rabbit is feeling shy, we may have kiddos read outside their kennels or in the barn - we will follow their lead!
Bunny Interaction: Children will have the opportunity to gently pet and read or show picture books to their bunny companions, promoting empathy and connection with animals. We will also offer treats to encourage engagement.
Important Information for Parents
Age Requirement: The event is geared toward K-3, but all ages are welcome. (Older participants can skip to solo reading if they wish. We will set them up accordingly. We ask that parents assist with younger kiddos who may need more attention. We are open to trying any age if you are- we appreciate your assistance! Thank you!!).
Supervision: Parents or guardians must remain on-site during the event. There will be designated seating areas for parents but we encourage them to be near their child and participate as well. .
Allergies: If your child has allergies to animals, please consider this before signing up.
Attire: Comfortable clothing is recommended. Please ensure your child wears closed-toe shoes for safety.
Booking: Pre-registration is required. Spaces are limited to ensure each child has ample time with the bunnies.
Signup: To participate we ask you to sign up online. Participation is free, but you are welcome to leave a donation.

To register your child for Saturday Story Time with Blue Barn Bunnies, please sign up by getting a free ticket(one per family). Early registration is encouraged as spots fill up quickly!
