18 Inch Journey Fundraising Dinner
You are invited to join us on our campus in Sophia, North Carolina for a beautiful evening of incredible food, fellowship, worship, and testimony. We believe that discipleship can change the world and want to share our vision to grow the campus of the 18 Inch Journey with you! Tickets for this special fundraising dinner are limited to 70 spots. Our desire is to create an intentional moment for you to taste and see what God is doing through this ministry and the schools, retreats, and camps that take place here.
In 1986, the 52 acre campus of A Place for the Heart was established with the dream of creating a space where people could come away from the busyness of life, encounter the heart of God, and experience the transforming love of Jesus. Now, nearly four decades later, we have been fulfilling that vision by hosting the nations through the generosity of many supporters. Our campus is a place where deep transformation happens in the hearts of men and women year round. Our vision is to keep expanding our campus so that we can continue in our dream of discipleship, and we need your help to make it possible.

3:30 : Arrival Time for Optional Tour of A Place for the Heart
4:00 : Campus Tour Begins
We will host an optional walking tour of our campus to offer a glimpse into the beautiful things that the Lord is doing in our camps, schools, and retreats. In this time, you'll get a chance to see the facilities and studios that God has generously provided throughout our history. To participate in the tour, simply choose this in the check out process.
5:00 : Arrival Time for Dinner
If you won't be joining us for the tour, please plan to arrive at 5 for parking and direction for dinner.
5:30 : Dinner Begins
We will serve a delicious, handcrafted meal in our Farmhouse. Our Cageless Birds Staff are excited to meet you and enjoy intentional conversation around the table. Dinner, dessert, and fresh-roasted coffee will all be provided at this time!
7:00 : Worship with the Cageless Birds
We will transition to our primary meeting space for our evening program, beginning with worship led by the Cageless Birds.
7:30 : Vision & Testimonies with Jonathan & Melissa Helser
Our founders will detail our mission of discipleship and the growing dreams and needs of A Place for the Heart. Stories and testimonies from the schools will be shared by 18 Inch Journey staff and alumni.
9:30-10:30 : Fellowship & Store is Open
We will close the evening with time for fellowship and conversation. Our Cageless Birds shop will be open for any shopping and gift purchases.

Can I bring my child to this event?
Though we love littles, this is a child-free event.
Is there a dress code?
This is not a formal banquet. Come dressed classy casual and please wear comfortable shoes if you will be joining us for the tour.
What is the closest airport?
Piedmont Triad International Airport (40 minute drive to our campus)
Will there be any overnight accommodations?
Unfortunately, we are not able to offer any overnight accomodations. However, there are many hotel and Airbnb options in the area.
How does ticketing work?

What if I have food restrictions?
We have space to indicate food restrictions in the ticket check-out process.
Do I have to be an 18 Inch Journey alumni or previous retreat guest to attend?
This event is open to anyone who would like to partner with our mission of discipleship!
