Night of a Thousand Laughs

As all of you know, substance abuse is destroying our families, communities, and workforce. In 2023 Kentucky lost over 2000 people to overdose deaths.  Due to substance abuse and the crime that circles around it, Kentucky has the 7th highest incarceration rate in the world. Neartown, Inc. is trying to do something about these numbers, but we can’t do it alone.  

Neartown, Inc. is a nonprofit residential substance abuse treatment center located in Kirksey, Kentucky.  Our state licensed, CARF accredited, and ASAM certified program focuses on the mind, body, and spirit of the individual who comes to us for treatment.  We incorporate the latest clinical practice, a time-tested 12-step approach, and an atmosphere of love, acceptance, and forgiveness, to provide our guests with a unique experience.  We believe that when people experience love, sometimes for the first time, it can change everything about them.   

We do one large fundraiser per year.  “Night of a Thousand Laughs” will be held at The For Center on May, 3rd 2024.  At the event, local comedians and musicians will entertain, Neartown’s executive director will take a few minutes to share what is going on at Neartown and there will be a silent auction.  

Thank you for your ticket purchase to our 2nd annual Night of a Thousand Laughs fundraiser. The money from your purchase will help us move into our next phase of recovery treatment. Funds raised at the event will help us to get one step closer to our long-term program and one step closer to becoming a full-service community mental health provider.
