What to Expect
Keynote: Autumn Jordan, Nature Canada Bird Friendly City Organizer will shed light on the national significance of the Bird Friendly City certification and share how communities across Canada, including Halton Hills, are coming together to protect our feathered friends.
Birding Basics: New to watching, feeding, or gardening for birds? No problem! A library staff member will be highlighting a selection of their bird friendly resources, from picture books and field guides, to binoculars and hiking kits. Don't forget your library card! Library members can sign out resources that catch their eye right from their display table.
Celebrating Our Local Journey: Discover Halton Hills' path to becoming a certified Bird Friendly City and hear from over 15 community members and organizations about their contributions to making Halton Hills bird friendly.
Interactive Group Discussions: These small group sessions are designed to spark conversation, share ideas, and inspire actionable steps we can all take to support bird conservation in Halton Hills.
Closing and Networking: As the official program concludes, we invite you to stay for informal networking. This is a prime opportunity to build relationships and share ideas on how to contribute to our four pillars (habitat, policy, community science and outreach).
Display Booths: Discover bird-friendly resources from Credit Valley Conservation, Bird Friendly Halton Hills, and Nature Canada at our booths. Check out the library’s display for educational materials—just bring your library card to borrow! Plus, find unique wearable bird art from Foldit Creations and window collision prevention kits available for purchase.
Early Arrival: Arrive before the official program begins to peruse the booths, meet fellow attendees, and explore the resources and merchandise available. This is a great chance to settle in and start connecting with the community.
