About event

On March 21st, Cinema at the Casa will be focusing on climate and sustainability in honor of the upcoming Earth Day on April 22. This video will dive into Planetary Boundaries, a science-based health check on the nine systems that keep our planet stable and resilient.

This video presentation features Johan Rockström, a renowned Swedish scientist who has contributed significantly to global sustainability issues and is the joint director of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research in Germany.

After the video, Eliot Jacobson, a retired UCSB professor, will speak and further illuminate the concepts presented by Rockström, discuss climate trends that will shape our future, and contextualize numeric guideposts that shape the dialog around climate.

The evening will conclude with an audience Q&A session, which will provide attendees with an opportunity to ask questions and engage in dialogue about climate issues.

Admission is $50.

Space is limited. Reservations are required.
