2024 Easter Cards for Ukraine Relief
Glory to Jesus Christ! Glory to Him forever!
Thank you for your support of our Christmas project of helping refugees from Ukraine in Slovakia, and displaced persons inside Ukraine. Also, our thanks to those who have sent offerings for Divine Liturgies (Masses) to be offered in Ukraine, or for the orphanage. Once again, your generosity surpassed all of our expectations. I met with Bishop Nil Lushchak, OFM, who is the Apostolic Administrator for the eparchy of Mukachevo in Ukraine, in November and he was very grateful for all of the help which we have sent, especially in the last years. The Mission Society has been helping for over 20 years!
This year Lent is very early, so we are getting our Easter letter to you early. NEW this year we are offering mixed packages of Easter cards with different icons of the Resurrection. We are grateful to Britta Prinzivalli for the contributions she has made to our cards by donating use of her sacred images. You can order icons from her by checking her website at www.brittworks.com .
As noted at Christmas, the income from the card sales goes to help with rent, food, fuel, and clothing for people displaced from the Russian-occupied zones or those bombed out of their homes by Russian missiles. The Caritas (Catholic Charities) office in the eparchy (diocese) of Mukachevo provides psychological and spiritual support to the families who have been displaced, and to the families of soldiers killed by the Russian forces, especially to children.
As always, the cards cost $12 for a packet of five, or $10 if you are in the area and pick them up at the church. So far, we have raised nearly $150,000 since the start of the war, which is amazing for a little all-volunteer outfit like ours! Please have your orders in by Wednesday, March 20th to ensure you have them in time for Easter giving. The ladies who help me donate their time and effort as well as postage, card design, and packaging. And we never sell or give away your information to anyone else. Each packet contains 5 cards and you can purchase multiple packets of cards. The list of names you provide us when purchasing cards will be prayed for by Bishop Nil Lushchak at Holy Cross Cathedral in Uzhorod, Ukraine on Easter Sunday.
Please submit your order no later than Wednesday, March 20th to receive your cards on time!
