Thank you for considering joining us for our 7th Annual Run For Ali 5K Run/Walk. This event is being held in honor and remembrance of Alison Nicole Rackley and the many others who have lost their lives to substance use disorder.
Alison was beautiful, brilliant, kind, fun-loving, and very loved. Despite having so much going for her, she was introduced to drugs, and it quickly took over her life. Alison died of an opioid overdose in April of 2017 at the age of 22, breaking the hearts of all who knew and loved her. During one Ali's last conversations with her mother, before she passed away, she told her to tell others to run from drugs. This 5K is our way of being able to pass along her message. Run from drugs. Don't mess around with them. Don't experiment. Just Run. Run for your life.
In response to Ali's passion to spread her message, we offer this opportunity to "Run For Ali" or run for your loved one with this 5K event. Unfortunately, we have learned that we are not alone in our grief and despair. Many friends, family members, and even strangers have shared their stories with us about how the effects of substance use addiction have impacted them. We encourage you to reach out to your family & friends and form a team to come and walk or run with us in honor of or in support of your loved one.
All Run For Ali 5K profits will benefit the Decatur Township Drug-Free Coalition, where Ali's Aunt is the Executive Director. This coalition is actively working to prevent and reduce drug use among youth and fighting this epidemic that is destroying many lives and tearing apart families. Alison had many connections to the Decatur Township community, and we know that she would be proud to be involved in this effort and pleased that we are committed to fighting this battle. #runforali
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
9:00am- 9:45 - Packet pick-up
9:45am-10:00 - Opening remarks
10:00am - Race begins
At the conclusion of the run, the family would love for anyone who would like to join us to come to Gallagher's Pub & Eatery at 3149 Thompson Road, Indianapolis, IN 46227.
ENTRY FEE:
Individual entry fee - $30 each
All participants will receive an event T-shirt. These will be long-sleeved unisex, Teal with white lettering.
RUN INFO:
- This is a non-competitive run/walk
- The event is limited to 200 participants
- Additional T-shirts can be purchased for $20
- When picking up the packet on the event day, you must sign a release of liability to participate.
