Fall Fundraiser & Donor Appreciation at Lightfoot Restaurant - October 8, 2023

Please join us on Sunday, October 8 from 11:30 am - 3:00 pm for our third annual Legacy Farms fundraising Luncheon at everyone's local favorite Lightfoot Restaurant. 

A lovely 3-course lunch will be provided, along with a silent auction and a "Fund Legacy Blooms" request to support a Claude Moore Match for our Legacy Blooms Flower Program.  Brandon Hassan, a professional musician and music therapist at partner organization A Place To Be, will provide music.  

Legacy Farms is still growing and harvesting. We are supporting our two Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Programs while also developing product lines and herbal garden to increase sales in the coming year, providing more jobs and a breadth of opportunities for our apprentices...not just in gardening, but also in entrepreneurial projects, media design, and partner-focused garden and sales and marketing services.

All of the funds raised from this event will go toward furthering our programming, which was recognized by the Town of Leesburg as setting “a commendable example for others to reinforce the value and talent that people with disabilities add to our workplaces & the community as a whole.” And was featured on Great Day Washington’s morning show segment, Legacy Farms Sows the Seeds of Diversity and Inclusion.

We are the first "real job" for most of our apprentices. With us, they experience what it means to work on a team, earn a paycheck, and take pride in their work. So, please join us in celebrating and building the Legacy Farms organization.

$1,000 - Sponsor an Apprentice

In 2023, Legacy Farms hired, trained, mentored, and supported neurodivergent apprentices, providing educational training and jobs for over 40 neurodivergent workers. The majority of these jobs were in the gardens, where we combined the personal development focus with hard work planting, growing, and harvesting for our CSAs and partner businesses! We also offered customized apprenticeships with an entrepreneurial focus on partner relationships and product development as well as media and landscaping for partner businesses.

Your sponsorship helps cover the cost of mentoring an apprentice on specific skills. As a thank you we include:

Planning and planting our gardens, irrigation, seeding, transplanting, fertilizing, weeding, harvesting, and preparing CSA products including floral bouquets, vegetable deliveries, and partner-focused wellness boxes.

Media Apprentices Focus on...

Photography, design and blogging that tell the story of our work in the gardens, highlights apprentice achievements, informs our social media audience, and provides visuals and text in support of our product lines.

Entrepreneurial Apprentices Focus on...

Partner communication and coordination for our CSAs and off-site garden services, project proposals, preliminary business plans and sales plans for our product lines, product design and development (including culinary designs), farmers market sales, and CSA deliveries.
