1st Annual African Mushroom Festival 2023
Mushroom lovers will join together annually (each year) in October converging to celebrate a humble fungus saving lives, providing employment and income while restoring nature.
For 2023, the Mushroom Festival will be held October 21st and 22nd 2023.
Join us at the Mushroom Growing Training Center in Hoima City, Kasingo village. Find us 3kms from Hoima central market along Hoima Kyenjojo Road!
Live streams will be via Zoom for all who have purchased a ticket!
African Mushroom Rising Festival: Inspired by the concept of a "rising sun," this name suggests a new beginning for African communities as they learn the skills to grow mushrooms and lift themselves out of challenging situations through mushrooms.
Eco-Agric Uganda is a Ugandan not-for-profit organization.
Every ticket purchased will grant virtual access to live streamed events, speakers and workshops and in purchasing a ticket, you're also sponsoring an African citizen to attend the event in person. There they will receive hands on training on mushroom growing, and will leave the festival with the knowledge and confidence to sustain themselves, their family and community with mushrooms.
All proceeds from the festival are going to cover costs for organizing the festival, plus finalizing the mushroom training center.

This two-day festival will be looking at:
- Materials used in low cost mushroom production
- Mushrooms for food security, income and employment
- Mushroom growing as a solution to climate change
- Different methods of sterilization
- Diseases affecting mushrooms and how they can be controlled
- Mushroom cultivation
- Mushroom foraging
- Mushroom medicine and mycoremediation
- Talks, workshops, a social event and a market. There will be food for sale (including vegan options) and face-painting

Hello! Welcome to our Mushroom Cultivation Training Centre in Uganda. We are dedicated to empowering youths, women, children, and local communities in Africa by teaching them how to successfully grow mushrooms using low-tech, sustainable methods. We are proud to offer this educational opportunity and look forward to our yearly event where we will welcome participants from all over the African continent.
Our mission is to ensure that even the most underprivileged individuals can access our training and benefit from the potential economic and nutritional advantages of mushroom cultivation. To achieve this, we employ simple, affordable techniques that rely on locally available agricultural wastes as a substrate for mushroom growth. This way, we can help communities create a sustainable, environmentally-friendly source of income and food security.
Our yearly event will feature a variety of activities, including:
