Movies TV - A Network For Movie Lovers

Event Information
About event

Whether you're a movie buff, a movie aficionado, or a casual movie watcher, you'll find something to entertain you with Movies!, a television network that offers the best of the best in film and TV programming, from documentaries to classic Hollywood movies. This network has been around since 2014, and can be seen in many markets across the United States through affiliations with local broadcasters.

The network has a large library of film and TV content, from award-winning Netflix originals to animated blockbusters. It also has an impressive amount of original shows, specials and documentaries. There are over 2,000 titles in the library, so if you're looking for something to watch, you're bound to find it. Those who want to see what's new can check out the "Movies!" channel on WFLD, Fox's flagship station in Chicago, which serves as the network's charter affiliate.

You might be surprised to learn more about that the network is not available on all your favorite streaming services. Instead, it's available in many markets through digital subchannel affiliations with free-to-air television stations. In fact, there are several markets in which it's the only digital subscription channel available. And despite its name, it's not as expensive to subscribe to as you might expect. For example, if you're in Minneapolis, you can watch the network for a meager $3 per month.

As for the network's technology, it uses what it calls "asynchronous technology." Essentially, you can watch a movie in the background while you do other things. Unlike traditional television, which uses a dedicated set-top box, Movies! streams to your phone, desktop, tablet or laptop. But the real magic is in the app, which features a step-by-step wizard that makes navigating the library a breeze.

The network also uses what it calls "real-time technology," which means that you can view films and TV shows without waiting for a buffer to reload. This is particularly important for those who want to watch a movie without turning the volume on their headphones up. Despite the network's name, it has no time constraints, and you can enjoy movies and TV shows 24 hours a day.

Although the network may seem to be a clone of the Fox Network's movie and TV channel, it has its own unique touch, such as airing high-quality, high-definition movies and shows. To top it off, it boasts the largest library of TV and movie titles in the U.S., including some of the best in the business. Among its most popular titles are The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, and HBO's True Blood. However, it's primarily known for its feature films, which it plays in 4:3 letterboxed format.

Aside from its high-quality programming, the network also has the honor of being the first to show a high-definition trailer to a movie in the theaters, a feat which no other major network has accomplished. Currently, the network is based out of Weigel Broadcasting's headquarters in Chicago.
