Join Voices Unbarred and DC Justice Lab in our ongoing series of interactive sessions exploring current criminal justice issues and creative approaches to changing policy.
Thursday, November 3, 2022
6:00pm - 8:30pm**
First UCC DC | Community Hall
945 G St NW
Washington, DC 20001
Using theatre as a tool, we will explore the realities of police and youth interactions in the District and narratives surrounding Black youth, work collaboratively to imagine possibilities, and create policies that address the issue. This event is a mixture of powerful performances by our Community Advocates, interactive exhibits, and small group discussions.
Come prepared to engage with the community and create change!
**Please note there will be a mid-event break.
Tickets: Tickets are $15 with a Pay-What-You-Can option if that's a hardship. All Voices Unbarred events are free for people who have experienced incarceration (systems impacted). There will be some language and references to violence and tough subject matter. We recommend ages 13 and up but all are welcome.
Travel: There will be parking in the garage available for $10 - The garage entrance is at the back of the building; use 980 G Place NW for GPS directions. The location is also metro accessible via Metro Center and Gallery Place, and there are multiple bus lines in the area.
Thanks: We are incredibly grateful to First UCC DC for donating the use of their beautiful space for this event, St Matthew Lutheran for donating rehearsal space, and our wonderful partner, DC Justice Lab, for help making this event possible.
