On September 28th, join us for Speaking Volumes, Pongo’s third annual fall fundraiser featuring renowned poet Ross Gay!
On Wednesday September 28th, Pongo will host Speaking Volumes, our third annual fall fundraising celebration. Acclaimed poet and New York Times best-selling author, Ross Gay, will serve as the guest of honor and be featured throughout the evening. Speaking Volumes is presented by The Poetry Foundation, and sponsored by Virginia Mason Franciscan Health and Miller Nash LLP. The evening consists of two parts: a virtual reception (ticketed) and a main event (free to the public).
From 6:30-7pm PST, Pongo will host a virtual reception and Q&A with Ross. Ticket purchases are required for the virtual reception. All ticket proceeds will support Pongo Poetry Project programming.
From 7-8pm PST, Pongo will host the main event - our celebration. The celebration is free to the public but donations are strongly encouraged. The event will feature a poetry reading from Ross, the voices of our youth writers, and stories of impact from across our 27-year history. All donations will support Pongo’s growth and allow us to share our poetry programming with youth who have experienced trauma across the country.
To purchase titles from Ross Gay’s catalog, we encourage you to visit our friends at the Elliott Bay Book Company!
