Esther's Birthday Campaign
This year I am donating my birthday to Nomi Network. 40.3 million people worldwide are trafficked every year. Together we can bring freedom to many.
Help me raise money to help women that are survivors or at risk to be trafficked by donating to my Nomi Network Birthday campaign. Nomi Network empowers survivors and those at risk by offering employable skills and job placement and provides businesses and consumers ethical supply chains and products.
Parbati is 36 years old and lives in Odisha, India. She has dreamt of being a nurse. At 22, she was married and soon after her husband began abusing her. She left her husband and moved back home with her father, but her father was struggling financially. Parbati began looking for work in hopes of alleviating some of his financial burdens. Her choices were limited and dark. This is when she discovered Nomi Network’s. Currently, Parbati is enrolled in Nomi’s Foundations Training Program and is learning employable skills such as stitching, hemming, and purse making. While Parbati is working to become financially independent at Nomi, she is free for the first time to define her identity and dreams.
For women like Parabati, having the ability to learn skills to be financially independent eases the worry. It will make her family thrive and more time to dream of a future for her children. Girls who dream become women who will lead. For Parbhati, learning brings freedom. Freedom means endless possibilities to a future.
