I have been working at the English Skills Learning Center (ESLC) for nearly two years, and I am continually impressed with the dedication and ingenuity of the learners we serve. The program I run offers classes to adults who are not only learning English but also first time literacy in any language. I cannot imagine not being able to read or write or not having the advantages of formal education, yet these learners use their experience and unique skillset to rise to the challenge. This opportunity would not be accessible to them without the ESLC.

Along with serving English Language Learners, the ESLC also provides educational resources for the receiving community such as workshops, volunteering, and a community book club. This focus on two-way mutual integration is what makes the ESLC special. Everyone can participate and work together to make the community better.
