Goal

Every year, when I sit down to write this letter, I find myself thinking about the people, moments, and small acts of care that make Bluebird what it is. As someone who has been part of this journey with me, I wanted to reach out personally and ask if you would consider supporting my Founder’s Giving Circle in 2026.

This past year has been full of extraordinary moments. Some have been big and public, like Ensemble NORTH travelling to UKARIA to create a professional recording together or the Djilang Film Collective screening of their original films at Platform Arts. Featherlings at ROAM Geelong also left a lasting impression, bringing together giant puppetry, music, and imagination to create a moving and memorable experience through the streets of Geelong.

But the moments I carry with me most are often the quieter ones.

A volunteer carefully folding choir uniforms at the end of rehearsal because they wanted every young person to feel proud walking onto the stage. A child and parent sitting side by side, completely absorbed in turning cardboard and paint into something magical together. An 11-year-old chorister independently organising how they would get to a performance because being part of the choir mattered that much to them.

Again and again, I’ve seen what happens when people are given spaces where they feel safe to create, connect, and contribute. Confidence grows quietly. Relationships deepen. People begin to see themselves differently.

That kind of change is difficult to capture in statistics, but it’s everywhere at Bluebird.

It’s in the classrooms where singing helps children feel connected. In intergenerational dance sessions filled with laughter. In young artists stepping forward to share their stories publicly for the very first time. In volunteers discovering strengths they didn’t know they had.

This is the work your support makes possible.

If you’re able to contribute to my Founder’s Giving Circle this year, your donation will directly help Bluebird continue creating welcoming, creative spaces where people across our community can connect and thrive.

Thank you for believing in this work, and for continuing to walk alongside me. I’m deeply grateful.
