Help End Human-Elephant Conflict

Not only is poaching for ivory and elephant skin a serious and growing problem in Asia, but also the rise of human-elephant conflicts especially in large population growth areas in India and Southeast Asia. Decades of massive deforestation and the loss of critical habitat, as well as an increase in poaching for elephant skin, has driven elephants to desperate measures to survive.  In the search for food and protection from poachers, elephants invade nearby villages destroying essential crops and posing a lethal risk to villagers. This ultimately leads to the death of the elephants by the villagers or by brutal poachers brought in to protect the villagers livelihoods and loved ones.

THE SOLUTION

The Elephant Project will focus its efforts in four areas to help bring a short and long term solution to this problem:

| Fund the construction of fencing and utilize other barriers to separate humans and elephants.

| Educate the villagers on non-lethal methods of protecting their crops and families from elephants.

| Restore elephants natural habitat through reforestation.

| Relocate elephants who are in high human-elephant conflict areas to safe zones.

We hope you will consider helping The Elephant Project by making a tax-deductible donation today.  Your donation will help fund U Khin Maung Gyi's fence building efforts, allow more people to see The Linesman, and help us implement our other solutions which will help bring us closer to ending these deadly conflicts.

We also encourage you to share The Linesman with your friends and family. The 30-minute documentary, co-produced by The Elephant Project, is critical to helping educate people about the root causes of human-elephant conflict and solutions on how to help bring an end to the deadly struggle between humans and elephants.

All the best,

The Elephant Project team and most importantly the elephants!
