The Gift of Guidance: Investing in the Dreams of Rockingham County's Youth

At the heart of every community is a desire to see its members flourish and succeed. In Rockingham County, a brilliant partnership between RCEF and compassionate donors like you lights the way for hundreds of aspiring young individuals. Thanks to this collaborative effort, every high school in Rockingham County is graced with a trained member of the Carolina College Advising Corps. These dedicated advisors are counselors and beacons of hope. They are pathways to dreams and bridges to opportunities.

The transition from high school to college can be daunting. Filled with challenges such as SAT preparations, complex college applications, and the weight of choosing the right path, this journey can seem insurmountable, especially for those from low income and underrepresented backgrounds. With the support of the College Advising Corps, every senior is offered a guiding hand, ensuring that potential isn't limited by circumstance.

Many of these students are pioneers in their families as first-generation college attendees. Imagine the effect this creates in shifting familial narratives, the breaking of barriers, and the setting of new standards of change for generations to come. This is the profound impact of guidance and mentorship.

The numbers speak volumes. Since 2014, more than 2,000 Rockingham County students submitted college applications. An astonishing $30 million in scholarships has been offered to our seniors since 2013. This is a testament to the power of community investment. For every dollar invested, there's a $450 return in the bright futures of our youth.

Join us in ensuring that every student has the opportunity to pursue their dreams and achieve their fullest potential. Together we will build a brighter, more inclusive future for all.
