At Richardson Area Wide Robotics, we believe that a student’s potential should never be limited by their financial circumstances. While our team builds robots, we are truly in the business of building leaders, innovators, and teammates. Our mentors have described this work as similar to an internship, "We're building our future coworkers." To ensure that every student has access to this opportunity, we are seeking support for our Student Scholarship Fund.
Breaking Down Barriers to Opportunity
Our program is designed to maximize student growth through one local event and one major travel event each year. These experiences are transformative, but they come with individual costs that can be a hurdle for many families. Our anticipated costs for an individual student are as follows:
Your contribution to the Scholarship Fund goes directly to student services, ensuring that financial need never stands in the way of a student’s participation. This fund covers:
Travel & Lodging: Providing hotel stays for multi-day travel events that students may not otherwise have the opportunity to attend.
Post-Season Success: Ensuring that when our team qualifies for the FIRST in Texas District Championship/UIL State Championship or FIRST Championship, every student earns their way to the world stage regardless of the sudden travel expenses.
Nutrition & Meals: Ensuring every student is fueled and focused during long days of competition and outreach.
Team Uniforms: Helping our students feel a sense of belonging and professional pride as they represent Richardson.
Individual Participation Fees: Removing the "pay-to-play" barrier so that talent and dedication are the only requirements for joining our team.
