From Emergency to Recovery" is much more than a slogan. It is a critical mission for education and therapy professionals and all healing professionals. And the faster we understand this, the better we will be at rehabilitating Israel's teenagers and Israeli society itself.
Khalil Homeidi
National Director of Community Services at ELEM
Half a year after October 7th, ELEM is implementing sustainable systems of healing and recovery for Israel’s newly vulnerable youth. Our programs have already proven to keep kids in school and reduce rates of risk behavior, which skyrocketed after October 7th.
Expanding on the effectiveness of our Breathing Spaces program, temporary spaces for immediate trauma care, ELEM is developing an innovative, trauma-oriented holistic model for intervention and care, which meets youth where they are on their turf at all hours of the day.
Through this new paradigm, ELEM is able to effectively identify and reach out to teens in need, create judgment-free relationships, and meet youth in informal settings that they are comfortable in. Our programs open the door for counseling and support that result in meaningful change for teens who would otherwise not access any therapeutic systems.
As we move from emergency support to sustained systems of care, join us in ensuring the youth of Israel continue to receive the support they need. Your donation helps ensure that at-risk youth can access ELEM services during all hours of the day:
Morning: Breathing Spaces in Schools
Afternoon: Drop-In Centers
Night: Outreach Vans
Daytime: Harm Reduction Center
Night: Digital Emotional Support Hotline
