Children in the Philippines who live in extreme poverty lack access to quality healthcare. They are often denied assistance and are unable to afford necessities to improve their quality of life.
Samantha is a 10-month-old baby girl from the Philippines. She has aqueductal stenosis (aqueductal stenosis is a narrowing that blocks the flow of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) in the brain). She has now been diagnosed with hydrocephalus. The pressure in her head is building and she urgently needs surgery to place a shunt.
Her father works as a vendor in a large market in Manila. Their income is around US$60 a month. The family was unable to afford their rent for their rural home so they are currently living at the market.
There is no way they can afford this surgery alone and are begging for help for their daughter. Can you help us raise the funds needed for Samantha's surgery?
