Children in the Philippines who live in extreme poverty lack access to quality healthcare. They are often denied assistance and are unable to afford necessities to improve their quality of life.
Baby Irish is only a few weeks old. She has been diagnosed with hydrocephalus and also schizencephaly (a developmental birth defect. It is characterized by abnormal slits or clefts in the cerebral hemispheres of the brain.) Doctors have advised her family she needs surgery urgently to treat her hydrocephalus and prevent further damage to her brain.
Her father works as a tricycle driver so his income has been affected by COVID restrictions. Her mother was working as a street sweeper before she was born. Their income is not enough to pay for an expensive surgery.
We have the chance to provide Irish with this essential surgery before pressure builds up further in her skull, causing damage and pain. Can you help baby Irish?
