Human Connections Emergency Response Fund
In March, we launched an Emergency Response Fund (ERF) to support our local partners in navigating the economic challenges associated with the onset of COVID-19. With the generosity of HC’s donors, we’ve channeled over $12,500 USD to our partners through stipends, product sales, and participation in virtual programs.
An investment in HC will empower us to continue our journey, widening our reach in the tourism-reliant Banderas Bay region. Your year-end gift will foster the creation of an HC Artisan Alliance, which includes:
Opening our programming to a wider network of local artisans who have been disproportionately affected by the pandemic
Facilitating income generation opportunities and access to international markets for these artisans
Providing capacity building support and professional development to members of the Artisan Alliance
We hope you’ll stand with us to ensure all members of the HC family are able to live healthily and with dignity despite the challenges that face us. Because when the global community starts to rebuild, an empathetic, interconnected spirit will help us heal.

Hello, My name is Nicole Dietz. I had the opportunity to visit Human Connections in 2015 with Dennis Barsema and my Microfinance classmates. The visit was very impactful to me and aided in my strong belief in Microfinance. The experience lead me to an internship at a Microfinance firm in Chicago, Opportunity International. I value that I not only had the opportunity to learn about Microfinance in class, but also had the chance to visit families in Bucerias Mexico who received loans from Human Connections, and see first hand the positive impacts it had on each peoples life's. The experience was a life changing. I hope to get back into the industry some day. Please let me know about any opportunities to get involved, Human Connections will always have my support.
