Hola amig@s!
Dear Friends,
This year Children Change Colombia (CCC) is celebrating its 30th anniversary and to mark this exciting milestone, they are holding a 30-30 Challenge for 30 days in August and September and are inviting all friends and supporters to participate.
For those not familiar with Children Change Colombia, they are a British registered charity that helps children to claim their right to live safely and in peace. They work with the children and their families to challenge poverty, inequality, discrimination, and violence in Colombia.
As a long-standing supporter, volunteer and fundraiser for the last 18 years, I have decided to take this special year’s challenge and to continue helping in any way to contribute to the valuable work that Children Change Colombia carries out with their partner projects across the country.
My challenge is to attend 30 fitness classes at my local gym for 30 days and completing 30 kilometres per week either by walking or on the exercise bike.
I actually started already 2 weeks ago on 14th August, and believe me, this has been a real challenge as I hadn’t been to the gym for 18 months. However, during those moments when I struggle to maintain the stamina necessary for some of the activities, I see those little faces, like Cecilia of the project " Fundación CRAN" or Cristina of “Adecasan” that could benefit from our efforts, and that, really gives me the strength and motivation to go the extra mile.
I invite you to read the story of Cecilia and other stories on the website, and perhaps motivate you to join me and have your own challenge. Alternatively, you could sponsor me and help me raise £300, so that between you and me, we can help many boys and girls to fulfil their dreams of a better education and a safe and secure future because I strongly believe that empowered CHILDREN can really CHANGE COLOMBIA!
Thank you! Gracias! Yvonne, x
PS. I actually managed to attend more than 30 fitness classes and clocked 30 kms or more in the exercise bike and walking per week in the first 30 days of the challenge. CCC has extended it until the end of October so I am continuing to do it and with your encouragement I am sure I will be doubling my challenge successfully.
I am attaching below a video and some links that provide further information about this wonderful organisation. Let's all help CCC celebrate its 30th anniversary with our generosity!
