My grandmother was moved to be so welcomed by the women of Tibet, both nuns and laity, when we visited Lhasa in 1991 together. She became a supporter of the Tibetan Nuns Project. Having never had a chance to get a higher education herself, she really admired women seeking to pursue advanced education.
