Goal

Year 1 - Land Acquisition and Fundraising and Construction of Community Center and Residence

Watt Samaki is currently searching for a new property that can meet the needs of our growing community while also being financially feasible. We are looking for at least 10 acres of land that has access to nature, such as forests and rivers.

Once we acquire the property, we will onboard civil engineers, biologists, and architects to prepare it for construction by only clearing the necessary trees, paving driveways, cleaning up, and installing connections for city services and utilities. During this time, two buildings will be constructed: A Cultural and Community Center and a Residence for the Monks.

We will also look to partner with land trusts, conservation organizations, and trail networks to integrate into existing trail systems and enhance the environment and natural features.

To begin planning for the construction of a traditional Cambodian wat, we will engage architects and civil engineers.

*UPDATE* Watt Samaki Temple has acquired 30 acres of land in Westbrook, ME.
