Uganda – Pastor Ezekiel – The Good Shepherd

Good Shepherd Uganda is a non denomination ministries started in year 2007 with the aim of reaching the lost with the gospel of Jesus ,planting Churches, and conducting charity work to the very poor needy and war affected orphans, widows and HIV/AIDS Victims children in the northern Uganda.

Currently we have local Church branches with 1000 members across the country.

Pastor Awira Ezekiel as the national overseer is a Uganda Christian Evangelist and the Senior Pastor of Good Shepherd Uganda Ministries. He completed his missionary and pastoral training with Lira Bible School and was ordained in Uganda. He is a man whose entire life is dedicated to fulfilling the call of God to proclaim the Gospel . He has been ministering for the Lord Jesus Christ for the past 18 years. God uses him abundantly for door to door evangelism and healing ministry. Jesus said,” Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature”(Mark 16:15). By “Go” Jesus means that His servants must travel to reach the unsaved souls.

Why does God wants them to travel ? What is God’s purpose in sending people like pastor Ezekiel from home to home?

In Uganda because of the civil war that lasted for over 22 years left a lot of trauma and psychological torture in the life of people ,high level of poverty, orphans ,widows and many more ,we as the church are doing our best to reach all souls with the gospel of Jesus, counseling and providing basics needs.

Our prayers request. we need support for 100 orphans children education feeding and medical care , 50 widows care , 400 iron sheet to build 4 churches, PA system and a two motor bikes.

Progress in reducing poverty has been much slower in Northern and Eastern Uganda, and thus, the concentration of poverty is higher in these two regions. The proportion of the total number of poor people who live in the Northern and Eastern regions increased between 2006 and 2013, from 68% to 84%, according to the report. Also, households in Uganda’s Northern, Eastern, and Western regions have much lower levels of human capital, fewer assets, and more limited access to services and infrastructure than households in the Central region. For example, electricity is almost nonexistent in the Northern, Eastern and Western regions, where the proportion of households with access stands at 3.7%, 5.8%, and 8.6%, respectively. This is far lower than 32.3% recorded for the Central region. Finally, about 29% of households in Northern Uganda do not use any type of toilet facility. This is far higher than corresponding figures for Eastern, Western and Central regions at 8%, 2%, and 5% respectively.

Households in Uganda remain vulnerable. In fact between 2005 and 2009, for every three Ugandans who were lifted out of poverty, two fell back. Because of the limited availability of safety net programs.

The long-running conflict in northern Uganda has led to major violations of human rights against civilians, destruction of infrastructure, reduced access to social services, and paralysed economic activity. Creating peace and fostering reconciliation in the region have not been successful either, thereby hindering development and relief activities, which are further constrained by insufficient funding, and lack of capacity at the district and community levels. The main challenges for reconstruction in northern Uganda are therefore to: (i) achieve peace and reconciliation (ii) provide basic social services to the affected areas (iii) strengthen government capacity to coordinate development and relief activities and (iv) harmonize interventions by the various stakeholders to achieve increased flexibility and transparency.
